Winter Wonder at Belmont Park
Looking to kick off the Holiday Season? Venture down to Mission Beach for Belmont Park’s Winter Wonder! Running from November 11th, through January 1st, you can experience all the rides and games, visit their restaurant partners for holiday specials, and watch the sunset over the ocean while enjoying all the amazing Christmas decor — it’s the perfect place to bring family and friends this holiday season!
Picture Perfect Moments & Yummy Treats at Belmont Park
When you first walk into the park, you’ll notice all the picture perfect spots! From the twinkling lights around the palm trees, to the sculptures and light displays — it’s the perfect spot to capture that Instagramable moment with the kiddos or even get those Christmas card pictures done in a flash!
While taking in all the lights and sculptures, be sure to grab a yummy bite before you grab some tickets for the rides (of course please be careful, that rollercoaster might take your tummy for a whirl!).
We got to try some really delicious seasonal treats like their Cinnamon Roll Funnel Cake, Winter Candy Apples, and we even got my favorite ice cream flavor in their winter ice cream cones!
My personal favorite was the Cinnamon Roll Funnel Cake — I truly had to hold myself back! It had all the nostalgic flavors of a funnel cake, but added in some delicious cream cheese icing and cinnamon flavor — giving you the best of both a funnel cake and cinnamon roll!
After all that eating we decided to do some lifting… these weights were surprisingly heavy…. I couldn’t lift them for the life of me!
Once i broke a quick sweat, we wandered over to Draft Coffee for a quick pick me up… We ordered their seasonal Tiramisu Latte, which was incredibly delicious! There was also another super cute photo opportunity that I couldn’t pass up!
‘Tis the Season at Draft
If you have some room in your tummy after a day at Belmont Park (or in need of a cocktail after a long day chasing around the kiddos), we highly recommend visting Draft for their seasonal menu items! If you have the chance, try to visit them around Sunset —- the views can be SPECTACULAR. They really are in the picture perfect spot!
For Cocktails, Chris ordered the Maple Whiskey Sour, which tasted just like the holidays — if you can imagine it for yourself! It paired perfectly with the skirt steak we ordered. And although we didn’t get a chance to try it for ourselves, we’ve heard some really good things about their Shepard’s Pie. With Ground Beef, Carrots, peas, smoked gouda, potato puree, bone marrow, Calabria chilis — it sounds too GREAT!
We also had a little more room (I know, it’s hard to believe), so we decided to try their seasonal desert flight, which gave us a little taste of everything! With Banana Pudding, Chocolate Toffee Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, and a Vegan Lemon Blueberry Cake — it had a little something for everyone and truly knocked my socks off! I really enjoyed the Banana pudding, myself, but the Vegan Lemon Blueberry Cake was a STRONG runner up! You can tell I was exciting by the way I was holding up the spoons…. I was ready to dive in, for sure haha!
After a long day and lots of yummy treats, we really enjoyed watching the sun go down and thinking about when we can plan our next trip to Belmont — maybe we’ll visit Cannonball next….. we’ll be sure to let you know!
