Rebranded “Uncle Italian” opens in former UCSD “Soda and Swine” location

Written by Ashley Dunn

The UCSD Soda and Swine location has big plans! Coming November 1st, the location will be reimagined as ‘Uncle Italian’. This decision is part of a rebranding effort by Consortium Holdings, which just so happens to be co-founded by Arsalun Tafazoli, a UCSD alumni.

Uncle Italian will take over the old Soda and Swine location, on the UCSD campus, off of Gilman and Eucalyptus. What was the old student center, has been transformed into a great open venue — perfect for this reimagined spot!

Uncle Italian will be open to the public for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! They’ll be serving up Italian style food including pizza, pasta, and salads. For anyone over 21, you can sit and sip on the outside patio along the bar centered around the fire pit!
