The Meatery was founded during the pandemic lockdown, in 2020, as a means to provide restaurant-quality proteins to consumers. Now over two years old and thousands of Wagyu later, The Meatery prides itself on being one of the largest sellers of Wagyu in the United States. From the extremely rare and insanely marveled cuts from Japan to the slightly less marbeled cuts from America and Australia you can find a cut for everyone and every budget!

Some of the selection

Japanese Wagyu

Japanese A5 Wagyu is characterized by intense richness due to its intense intramuscular marbling (fat). Wagyu literally translates to "Japanese Cow." Customers describe eating Japanese Beef "like eating the richest dessert they've ever enjoyed in steak form." 3-5oz will easily satisfy a grown man.

American Wagyu

Wagyu may translate literally to "Japanese Cow" but authentic, fullblood Wagyu does exist in America as well, thanks to cattle having been exported by Japan. This slightly more affordable cut is perfect for a weekday treat!

Australian Wagyu

"Wagyu" literally translates to "Japanese Cow." Australian Wagyu is exactly what it sounds like...Japanese Wagyu born, raised, and processed in Australia. These cattle did not swim to Australia, however. In the early 1990's, some entrepreneurial figures were able to exploit a Japanese/United States reciprocal trade agreement in order to export (from the United States) fullblood Wagyu genetics into Australia, giving birth to Australian Wagyu as we know it today.

Kobe Beef, What’s the Deal?

You have reached the pinnacle of Wagyu, Certified Kobe Beef. This isn't just Wagyu; it is the most iconic, sought-after beef in the entire world, the Rolex of Wagyu.

To become Kobe Certified, The Meatery was put through a stringent background check by the Kobe Beef Association. There are only a few websites in the entire country authorized to sell this incredibly rare beef and our plaque is proudly displayed in the Mission Gorge location.

To earn the recognition of being Kobe Beef, cattle must be born and raised in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan and raised under the strictest guidelines. In 2020, only 5,500 cattle qualified as Kobe with a mere fraction of those being exported to the USA.

This meat is incredibly special, ultra-rare, and the absolute holy grail of Wagyu.
