Laguna Beach, a stunning coastal destination just a short drive from San Diego! Sitting along the picturesque Pacific Coast Highway, this adorable beach town offers everything you’re looking for in a weekend getaway. Some even say it’s San Diego’s sister city!
Take in the breathtaking scenery as you stroll along pristine beaches or explore the various hiking trails along the mountain ranges, either way Laguna Beach is filled with new discoveries! But of course, you can’t forget to take in the delicious food through out the city, which may be our personal favorite activity, of course!

The Ranch at Laguna Beach is nestled against the beautiful mountain range in the city of Laguna Beach and possibly one of our favorite hotels we’ve stayed at. As you drive up the path you wonder where you’re headed, as all you can see are the mountain ranges in front of you. As you take the turn towards the valet you start to see the gorgeous hotel and pristine golf course. Truly draw dropping — and if you’re anything like Ashley, the excitement will kick in as you take in the view!
We really can’t express how lovely this hotel is. From the second you walk in you’re greeted so kindly by their hotel staff. With less than 100 rooms, this intimate resort is spread widely offering every guests a relaxing oasis. Be sure to enjoy the view as you walk around, because wow is it gorgeous. The courtyard of our room was full of greenery, just starting to change colors with the season.
Of course that’s just the beginning of the experience, because as you walk into your room you’ll feel as if you’re transported to cabin in the woods with a spice of Orange County luxury. The rooms were very room, with other options to explore for larger parties as well. Of course Ashley had to give a quick bathroom review, for old times sake (if you know, you know), and she can confidently give our room a 10/10. Ashley almost considered never coming home — especially when she found the chocolates on the pillows after coming home each night!
We were also lucky enough to take a tour of the property with their amazing team. We even got a peak of their spa and it looked so peaceful. With couple massages, personal massages, and other packages to consider… we definitely recommend splurging a bit, as we hope to do the same next time we visit!
Before dinner we also got a the chance to tour their onsite garden, The Harvest Garden, which is maintained and managed by Farmer Leo & Team. This 1/2 acre farm aims to source their onsite restaurant, Harvest, through season specials and even the Harvest Bar as well.
Ashley’s favorite part was learning about all their Hens — which source all of the eggs used for their various pasta dishes! Each with their own personalities and names! Tina Turner had a lot of sass, but Coco is the big boss around the farm.. Definitely don’t mess with Coco, ask Albert Einstein what happens…
If you have the chance to take a tour, Farmer Leo & team hosts guided tours every Thursday! Chef Kyle St. John is also a great guy if you happen to run into him while visiting Harvest — every bite we had of Chef Kyle’s was FANTASTIC and it was great to get to know him and his cooking style a bit!

Harvest at The Ranch at Laguna Beach
Of course we also can’t wait to tell you about the food at Harvest! After getting to know the hens a bit, along with chef and farmer Leo’s team, we just had to check it out.
We had the amazing opportunity to join a small group of folks for one of their private dinners. If you ever get the chance to check out any of their seasonal events, any event whether it be food or not, we highly recommend! The Harvest dinner was a lovely experience and it started right in the onsite garden with champagne and small bites! Ashley could have stayed there all night, honestly….
Next we ventured back up the hill, where the party was just getting started. This event was one for the books, with fabulous wine continuously pouring, delicious bites being served left and right, and overall just fantastic company.
We personally loved how the harvest garden was exemplified in every dish. The freshness of the produce really shined and Chef did a fantastic job making every bite unique and flavorful. We went into this event not knowing anyone and we walked out with new friends, great memories, and full bellies!
Note although this was a seasonal event, these same flavors and beautiful dishes are showcased throughout Harvest on a daily basis!
The Deck
If you’re looking for a place with a view & a good drink, you should definitely check out The Deck! This spot is perfect if you want to watch the waves and take in the sunshine. The vibes here are immaculate and gives you the perfect opportunity to take in all the coastal beauty Laguna Beach has to offer.
They also have some really good bites & a full bar. We ordered a nice cold beer & the Liquid Vacation, which is a tropical tiki like drink perfect for watching the waves hit the shore!
For bites we stuck with some classic bites, all super delicious! Ashley’s favorite was probably the Hamachi Carpaccio! We also ordered the Tuna tartar and some chips and guac (a classic, of course) — all great bites and super fresh!
Lost Pier Cafe
Lost Pier Cafe happens to be another restaurant associated with The Ranch! Located within walking distance from The Ranch, Lost Pier Cafe offers the perfect blend of coastal charm and culinary excellence. With its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, this quaint cafe calls all locals and tourists alike to indulge in a culinary journey unlike any other.
The menu at Lost Pier Cafe features an array of delectable options, but Ashley decided to go with classics and got the breakfast burrito & the avocado toast! You can probably tell from her slight smile, mid bite, that it was pretty dang good.
So, whether you're seeking a relaxed brunch spot or a romantic dinner destination, Lost Pier Cafe is sure to satisfy all your cravings while providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Laguna Beach is always putting on awesome events throughout the year and we highly recommend checking out The Taste of Laguna Beach (especially for all of our foodie friends!).

Temecula Olive Oil Tasting
Looking for something a bit more casual? Try walking into the The Temecula Olive Oil tasting room! With tasting room locations all across Southern California, The Temecula Olive Oil company is producing some of the most delicious & locally sourced olive oils around.
The Laguna Beach location was super welcoming and their team was awesome! The knowledgeable staff guided us through a variety of oils and vinegars, meticulously explaining the distinct characteristics and nuances of each one. From robust and peppery to delicate and buttery, there is something to satisfy every palate. The Temecula Olive Oil tasting experience is a must-try for those seeking to elevate their culinary journey and immerse themselves in the excellence of California's olive oil craftsmanship!
